Will there be more adventures for Ellie Mallory and Adam Bates of The Smoke Hunter?

Absolutely. Yes. There are actually three more books planned for Ellie and Adam. Due to convoluted publishing logistics issues, I can’t tell you exactly when those stories will be released. But I promise they’re coming, and they will be more fun than a snake in the bathtub.

When can I read the next Lily and Strangford / Charismatics story?

The Charismatics is planned as a three part series, and yes – the other two parts are coming soon. I don’t have a release date for Book Two yet. The first ones to hear when I do are my beloved newsletter subscribers, so if you’re hankering for more of The Refuge and its denizens, sign up.

But what’s taking you so damned long?

I am not (yet) one of those lucky authors with six-figure book deals. I have a more-or-less full time job, two young kids, and a needy cat. (ZOMG so needy.) My not-so-needy husband occasionally appreciates spending time with me that doesn’t involve me grunting at him while I stare at a laptop screen. Why am I telling you these things? Because I want you to know that I am not indifferent to your need for more stories. I hear you. There are few things in this world I’d rather do than spend more time with my characters. But I also like my marriage and someone has to keep the children from going completely feral.

What else can I read while I’m waiting for more of your books?

I told you I feel your pain. That’s why I’ve taken the time to curate themed shelves on Goodreads with books I’m happy to recommend. It’s a smorgasbord of literary delights, with nary a pickled herring to be seen. I also share some lists of favorites and other goodies through my blog.

Will you speak to my book group?

I love book groups. Reading plus friends and snacks? Sign me up. Sadly, I have not yet learned to teleport, so stupid geography limits where I can get to physically. However, I’m very happy to answer any questions from book group readers by way of a just-for-you video recording you can play at your group gathering.

Do you do events?

Depends. Will there be cookies? Kidding. I do events even if there aren’t snacks. If I have any coming up, you’ll find them on the events page. I’ll also mention them in my newsletter. If you want me to appear at your event, drop me a line. I do a halfway decent Tooth Fairy but I’m a lousy Santa Claus, and I do not know any magic tricks. I am far more likely to say “yes” if you are in the Boston-Portland area but don’t let that stop you from asking.

Are you open to interviews?

I love talking about myself. I’ll happily chat with you via phone, email, or video conference. If you’re local to New England, in-person is also a possibility. Hit me up.

Will you blurb my book?

I love reading. It’s why I write things. Because I write things, I have very little time to read. That said, I’m always on the lookout for delicious new books to devour during those rare and precious moments of “free time”. So send me your pitch, and if I’m intrigued enough I’ll give it a whirl. I only blurb books I really love, and I can’t make any promises ahead of time that a blurb is forthcoming. As long as you’re cool living in a world of uncertainty, drop me a line.
